SSMorgan Enterprises, Inc. was born from the dot com fall out. At the time of the dot com boom, it was very easy for business people to see the potential of the web and how it could save companies money. This potential quickly turned to greed and nearly every business had plans or had allocated money to getting their company focused on a more web centric business model. The only problem - No model was available.
The Beginning
In the early days of web development, it was very difficult for the average person to do things like create a web page, much less a full web site. As a mater of fact, most web developers did little more than create a complicated layout design, compared to the work of the early printing presses. The work in getting a basic web page was not only complicated and time consuming, but required a great deal of patience, and there were very few standards in place.
Too many jobs and not enough developers...High development costs was the only choice.
Now
The web has evolved and business plans have matured. Today nearly everyone with a computer can build a web site. Building a web site is easier than programming a VCR (for those of you who still have such devices). The basic tools that it takes to build a web site are usually included in most hosting accounts - and be cautious if they are not. These applications virtually set up the entire web site for the customer, but they do have a down fall. These web sites usually look very canned, much like a track home neighborhood where all the houses look the same. This has worked well for today's small businesses and it will continue for some time into the future.
Today's small businesses are evolving as well. While corporate America has been throwing money at good developers for years, the small business owners have had to learn how to do this on their own - with very limited resources. Keep in mind, many web sites are created using one of the many form filing type design tools, including products that we use. However, the web sites of today are doing more and have a greater core function in the business model.
